Katie is a recent graduate of the Ohio State University’s nurse midwifery program and was fortunate enough to spend two semesters as a student here at Mt Eaton Midwifery, from September 2020 – April 2021. Katie’s passion for birth work emerged with her own nurse-midwife-attended birth in 2015. Katie has discovered her life’s work rooted in the traditional midwifery model of care and values continuity of care, community-based birth work, and partnering with patients to meet their healthcare goals and needs. Katie believes that low risk birthing families should have options to decide where and how they give birth.

 

Professionally, Katie recently launched a homebirth practice called Wide Circles Holistic Midwifery that serves the Cleveland area. Katie has completed 90 hours in lactation education (making her a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist), and plans to some day become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). In addition to this, she views birth centers as a necessary and essential option for low-risk families and has a dream to open and operate her own some day.

 

Katie is wife to husband Scott and has a 6 year old boy, Winter Levi. Katie also has two dogs, a Jack Russell Terrier “Oatmeal” and a Pug “Lolli”. Katie loves to garden and also enjoys cooking and homestyling.”
