I was interested in natural childbirth since before I had my first baby when I was 21. It always made more sense to me that generally speaking, the entire birthing process will unfold at it’s own pace and probably be the better for it. I realize that’s not always possible so we have to keep a watchful eye on the entire pregnancy and birthing process to be sure things are going along OK.
I try to educate women who seek Mt Eaton Midwifery care about the cornerstone of taking good care of one’s self during pregnancy: nutritious foods, plenty of fresh water and daily rest! Anyone can borrow books from our lending library to help educate herself on these and other topics.
I’m continually amazed at women’s strength and grace while giving birth. Childbirth requires such a giving up of control and total trust to the process and the others in the room caring for her. This is not easily accomplished and yet, I see it manifested all the time. I remain so thankful to God that the process works as well as it does, according to His plan.
I’m from Toledo, Ohio, but we moved to Millersburg, Ohio in 2008. I immediately fell in love with the natural beauty of Holmes County in all four seasons and the people here, too.Everyone here is very friendly and kind! I’ve always loved horses and can brag that every day on my drive to work I pass over 80 of them. I am married to a part-time English/Philosophy teacher named Mike and we have 5 children and 7 grandchildren.
